Helios' Hideaway

We were from out of town, but we love Mediterranean food! So when we found Helios' we had to try it! It was great! Food tasty, quick and the service was top notch! The polenta was a bit bland, but from everything we ordered.... Everything else was very fresh and refreshing. Seating is only outside, so it was perfect for us that day. But if it was rainy, we may not have ever went. Definitely will return, rain or shine next time.

Sun dried tomatoe couscous was the best I've ever had. The couscous was cooked to perfection, the vinegar tang lit up my taste buds, and the fresh vegetable made it marvelous! Great Greek pizza. Fast and friendly service. Unbeatable value on the island!

Lovely to be back at Helio's Hideaway and see the owners again. Always a friendly and great experience and the food is just delicious! Nice that they stay open through the winter. We look forward to visiting again this year. Highly recommended! - The Borzoi People -

Pro-tip… plan your Ocracoke trip around Helios’ Hideaway hours because you definitely need their fresh pita and hummus at minimum for your beach snacks, but we recommend getting a little bit of everything to share as it was all delish… our favorites… figgy pizza (seasonal special), Siren Pizza, hummus with harissa (hot but so good), hummus with pesto (seriously the best pesto!), any of the pita wraps, falafel, couscous salad sides, and baklava! We loved it all so much we made a second visit on our departure day to take some home with us! Will absolutely be back every trip to Ocracoke from now on! Also, the owner is amazing too…so friendly and top notch customer service. Thank you again!

My husband and grabbed Lamb Gyros for lunch here as takeout and they were excellent!! The service here was great and I would definitely return if in the area. It is evident everything is made fresh!
