I found their holiday decor to be tasteful and festive, a must see for out of towners seeking a holiday experience while in downtown Asheville. Their baked goods are decadent and though the menu changes slightly, you can count on being able to return to a favorite at each visit. I go for the tiramisu, the whipped topping is excellent and the layering of it gives it proper structure, without being overly saturated. It's a perk they serve coffee as well! A great spot for gifts for family, I bring my mom their eclairs when I visit her out of town. This place stays busy, and the team works hard to maintain a positive environment while being efficient. And it's always clean! Swing by Old Europe, you won't be disappointed.
Parking can be a bit tricky, but once you’re inside it’s easy to relax. They have a great selection of cakes and other sweet treats, along with good beverage options, both non-alcoholic and alcoholic. They’re open late, and here’s a pro tip: Tuesdays are BOGO cake night. It can get busy and is not ideal for larger groups, but it works really well if you’re by yourself or with one other person. We went with four and managed just fine, though smaller is definitely better at the OE of AVL.
The gluten free carrot cake was exceptional! The gluten free tiramisu was good but not the fave for us. The savory croissant was good, but there wasn’t quite enough filling. They have more gluten-free options than almost any other bakery/coffee shop I’ve been in before. They were busy, but were very well ordered and got to all of their guests in a timely manner. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff! The vibe was immaculate! Playing Sinatra and the moodiness, but openness was perfect.
Love! Love! Pure love for this little pastry shop! They have a bar for mixed drinks, coffee, teas, and sodas. Enjoy the cozy atmosphere while you have yourself a house made treat. I tried the black diamond: dense chocolate cake, coated in chocolate with a thick ganache topping. A perfect sweet ending for the evening.
Came here for coffee and a light breakfast before exploring downtown. Fast and friendly service. Flaky pastries filled with savory or sweet options. They also brew decent coffee selections. Limited seating during busy times . Good place for pastry.
