Today I got to try the Vietnamese Sandwich with the Vietnamese Coffee. The sandwich was packed and with great taste. However, the Vietnamese Coffee was just too sweet for me. A person sitting at the same table as me had advised me that the coffee taste really good without the sugar, so I will be trying it again with no sugar next time. The husband and wife working here are very sweet people. They are very friendly and helpful.
Good sandwiches at a very reasonable price. Not sure if the two working there were father and son, but they were working non-stop. Steady number of phone orders and people walking in. No frills shop with counter seating and small tables. More of a grab-n-go type spot. I ordered 2 sandwiches (bbq beef & roast pork) and was told it was going to be about 15 mins. The bread was toasted nicely with a good crunch that won't cut up your mouth. The bbq beef was some sort of ground beef that was made into a patty then sliced up in strips with the standard vegetables, not quite what I expected, but not bad. The roast pork was a bunch of cooked shredded pork and the standard vegetables, also not bad. $21 after tax for 2 sandwiches, cheap for the island.
Was really craving a bbq pork sandwich/banh mi so called this place on a whim and got takeout for the beach. Only thing is the menu photos that some people have posted are out of date, as they have raised the prices so cheapest sandwich is $10+tax. Took 15 minutes before it was ready, but it did hit the spot in the end. And I added a good view!
This ghetto looking place is hidden in plain sight, next to Ace Hardware on Waialae Ave. It's an underrated restaurant with an interesting name, No Name Sandwich... lol. It's crazy good for its simple focus on quality banh mi sandwiches. The cilantro, sweet onions, house sauce, and BBQ pork or beef make these sandwiches so good. I've even seen a tourist literally buy and eat a sandwich in the restaurant, then minutes later go up to order another one. This time, I purchased and tried the meatball sandwich. It was good and savory, and it paired well with the sweet onions and the toasted French bread. For $9.99, it was worth it. Heads up, the restaurant is pretty popular, with many people calling in their orders instead of ordering in person. I highly recommend calling ahead to order and pi
Split a BBQ Beef and Vietnamese Sandwich with my girlfriend and they were excellent. Very authentic Vietnamese banh mi (I wish we had this still back where I live) and the family that owns the restaurant were very friendly. Thank you for the meal and happy new year!
