Nicholson Inn Bed & Breakfast

We loved our stay at the Nicholson Inn! John and Loretta are so kind and accommodating. Hospitality is definitely their gift! The location is perfect, right on Main Street in Freeport. It's a very easy and very short walk to literally anything in town. We had such a lovely time. Very comfortable room (we stayed in the Crimson King) and the whole inn was immaculate - so clean! The overall charm was very cozy and I love how they have decorated. Everything feels very collected and found. We loved spending time on the back deck, front porch, and the sitting room. We enjoyed the little touches John and Loretta put out for us like drinks, snacks, and treats. John recommended a British store nearby and we enjoyed a night of puzzles, tea, and cookies we got from there. Great food recommendations a

This charming 19th century inn offers all the comforts and then some! It's conveniently located walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, the LLBean headquarters, and many brand name outdoor clothing outlets. The customized breakfast is a highlight with John's sample pastries on the level of the best Parisian bakeries. Period antiques and comfortable living area furniture create just the right welcoming atmosphere. Our room, with King bed and en suite bath was very comfortable. Owners John and Loretta are a very welcoming couple! We enjoyed great conversations and learning more about their life on the east coast (we are from WA state). Once again we had a fantastic experience at The Nicholson Inn. This was our third time staying there. John and Loretta are the perfect hosts, breakfasts were outstanding, and they were able to accommodate dietary restrictions without any problem. We were able to choose our breakfast from their wonderful menu each day, and each meal was served hot and was delicious. Their attention to detail was much appreciated and our rooms were immaculate. We will never stay anywhere else in Freeport. Their inn is right in town and you can easily walk to all the shops. They truly make you feel like family.

My wife and I booked a room at the Nicholson Inn on a whim and it was the best decision we made on our trip up the Maine coast. John is an incredibly gracious host. We loved sitting on the front porch, sipping wine and giving belly rubs to Mojo the black lab. The rooms were comfy, the inn was beautiful and John's homemade breakfast was one of the best meals we had on our trip. We hope to come back some day when Loretta is in town!

Best Inn ever, had a wonderful stay here in Freeport ❤️ John and Loretta were SO SO sweet, friendly, and nice, they treat you like family!! Location couldnt be more perfect - it was in the heart of town, super close to cafes/restaurants/shops. Bed was super comfy as well and the inn was well decorated with cute touches everywhere. Not to mention John’s eggs were AMAZING, you need to go and try out his omelette!!! Wonderful experience and thank you so much for having us, we’ll definitely be back!
