Mitchell's On Main

I am not a diner guy, so this as close to the diner experience as I want to get. Extensive breakfast and lunch menu, with great specials listed on the chalk board when you walk in, (conveinently making you drool while you wait!) Try their french toast or eggs benes... yiu will not regret it. Service is usually good, but when they are packed it slows down a bit so plan for a little extra time waiting for food and your check if you are going at peak times.

Mitchell’s On Main is truly a gem. Every single time I come here, I’m met with compassion, understanding, and genuinely kind service. The staff makes you feel welcome and valued, not rushed or overlooked, which means more than people realize. The food is phenomenal! Consistently delicious, fresh, and clearly made with care. You can tell pride goes into everything they serve. The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting, making it a place you actually want to sit, relax, and enjoy your meal. I recommend this place 1000%. If you’re looking for great food paired with excellent service and real human decency, Mitchell’s On Main is it.

My favorite breakfast place around. Friendly staff, great service, and delicious food that won’t break the bank. Their egg sandwiches are easily twice the size of ones from major chains and they taste WAY better and cost about the same. French toast in all it’s varieties is delicious as are all the breakfast entrees. Love this place.

My husband and I recently visited Boston and Middletown, CT. We stayed in Cromwell, CT. We had excellent dinners at really wonderful restaurants in Boston, New Haven and Middletown, but the highlight of the trip was breakfast at Mitchell's on Main. We went there first on a Saturday. It was busy, packed with people, all of whom seemed to one another and were well known to the staff. I had the Italian Garbage Plate. With a name like that, how could I resist: fried potatoes with sausage, onions and red pepper, topped with melted cheese and a couple of poached eggs. My husband had Eggs Oscar - which is essentially Eggs Benedict with lobster and asparagus. The breakfast was so good, we went back the next day and that was when the most startling thing happened. This place is great. Classic American diner with great good, good service, and a good price. If you want that classic hustle and bustle of Sunday breakfast, or just a quick takeout bite on the weekdays, this place is perfect.
