Mecca Caribbean and Soul Food

I decided to stop by today after seeing this place on DoorDash. Knowing the app tends to overcharge, I brought my aunt and baby cousin to order in person. When we walked in, the restaurant smelled flavorful and had a decent amount of activity. There was no formal line — you simply waited for the owner to come over and take your order. After about a 20-minute wait, the owner started to approach us but was stopped by another customer. Thankfully, she remembered we had arrived first, which we appreciated. She was very helpful in explaining the menu and letting us know what items were in or out of stock. Unfortunately, after ordering, the experience went downhill. For starters, WHY didn't I know about the gem of a place? I've lived here for 17 years and have been deprived. The platters literally weight 10 lbs., that's how much food you get and it's delicious 😋. I'll let you drool over my photos. But not before I talk about the feeling you get when you walk through the door. You literally feel like you're visiting family. The young ladies are so pleasant, personable, and has awesome spirits. You feel the pleasantries as you talk to them. THANK YOU 😊 you know I'll be back for more!!

If you are looking for a filling, flavorful, home cooked meal that you don’t have to cook, look no further! We got take out from here last night and it was absolutely delicious. We split a Mecca meal with the Mac and cheese, sweet heat ribs, smoked bbq chicken, sweet potatoes, crab and lobster rigatoni, and the red skin mashed. The meat all fell off the bone, the pasta had a nice kick with the spices, the cornbread was thick and sweet. If I had to pick a favorite, it was the ribs hands down! Thank you for a wonderful meal! We will definitely be ordering again soon!

Great food and large portions! The staff were very kind and gave great suggestions. I want to come back for their jerk chicken!
