Hands down one of the best neighborhood spots in Mission Hills. Max & Lucy's has that perfect cozy, welcoming vibe where you immediately feel like a regular—even on your first visit. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, and their portions are generous without feeling heavy. The service is friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm—you can tell the team actually cares about their guests. Whether you’re grabbing a casual bite or meeting friends for a relaxed meal, this spot delivers every time. Local gem status for sure.

What a great experience! Walked to this bakery and tried a few things and everything tasted fresh and delicious. We tried the Silvana cookies (wow), the pan de sal with pork (delicious, hot, and soft), the ensaymadas, lemon bar, and Ube cheesecake. Mike was extremely hospitable and so excited to serve us. I highly recommend stopping by!

I'm happy that my "sister from another mother"/neighbor got some for us to try. These days, the latest family favorites are Max & Lucy's ensaymada. I usually stick with the original/parmesan. Size is ideal, and sweetness level is exactly right. It's also worth trying the cheeserolls. Even my picky eater (my boys), enjoyed the cheeserolls The flavor makes me think of "bear brand" powdered milk. They are still eating them and seem to be enjoying it. I've bought from this place for three months running.

Nice Filipino bakery shop. Take out only. Pandesal is always fresh and pillowy soft.
