AN OCRACOKE GEM !! FABULOUS FOOD AND ATMOSPHERE !! This is a really fabulous spot to enjoy some very well crafted food (and some 1718 beer). The fish tacos are made by a true kitchen ARTIST. They are unique in their blend of fresh ingredients and outstanding balance. Everyone was extremely friendly and professional. I give this restaurant my highest score of 5/5. The specials are very, very good. With the departure of Eduardo’s, this will be my new go-to spot for Mexican food on the island. The shrimp empanadas and chicken chimichanga 🔥🔥🔥 The regular menu items are noticeably less good, but who needs ‘em. There are plenty of other places to get burgers, fried seafood and french fries.

Had the shrimp ceviche special (which was very good) and some nice, crispy hot wings to go with our beer flights. Everything was fresh tasting and a perfect match for our beers. The lady helping us was funny and very nice. The overall place plays chill music and sometimes live music. This is the kitchen service for the brewery.

Wow! We stopped in twice and had great food and superb beer! We got the crab stuffed pretzel and the cheese and chips and both times they were very good. The beer was awesome too! Vera Cruz was 🔥 Nice place to relax (tables were comfy) and have an afternoon snack! We will be back!

Oct 2025...Chicken Tamale currently the Sunday night special. There's three tamales per order... added some different hot sauces, BAM! delicious. Added a side cabbage salad... very fresh and tasty. Perfect accompaniment to the tamales. Reasonably priced too. Great friendly service. Initially we were hesitant to go here based on previous reviews, but when said and done, we were very glad we went. We're here on vacation for another 3 weeks and we'll be going back to try another nightly special. :-) The brewery has a very nice selection too, live music overlooking the patio at 7pm. Arrived around 6pm, saw the musicians setting so we opted to sit inside. Music was very nice and enjoyable.. not too loud...just right
