Customer Reviews
My first time at Mama's Kitchen was excellent! Clean with great atmosphere. Ritu was most pleasant and patient and she helped me navigate the menu through my allergy restrictions to find and a new favorite dish! The mixes Vegetables, rice and main bread. This is a Champaign-Urbana staple!
I’ll be back soon. Food was outstanding. I had some ghobi and naan and can’t wait to try out the rest of the menu. That first bite really blew me away! I like that the restaurant is connected to the market. I might not have stopped into the market otherwise, but I will be going back on a full trip there soon. I could use for maybe some stools while I wait. My food took a little longer than I anticipated, but it was absolutely worth it. Maybe other dishes take less time. I’m finally taking the vegetarian plunge and I can already tell this place will be my new best friend. I really hope meat lovers don’t skip out just because it’s all veg, the food is so good you don’t want to miss out!
Our first time eating from Mama's Kitchen. We ordered Chana Masala, Veg Biryani, Dry Manchurian, Pani Puri, and Samosa. Everything tasted authentic and was delicious!
I’m a vegetarian, and I was really excited when this place opened its kitchen. I absolutely love their chaats, samosas, puffs, and other snacks. However, their main dishes like sabzis, daals, and thaali are consistently way too salty and often a bit too oily. If they adjusted the salt levels, their food would be perfect. I’ve ordered from them multiple times hoping it would improve, but it’s been overly salty every time. My friends have noticed the same thing. Because of that, I’ve stopped ordering anything other than snacks from here. It’s a real shame, because if they fixed the salt issue, I wouldn’t go to any other Indian restaurant in Champaign.
I've had several dishes here. Dry manchurian, pav bhaji, samosa chat and pani puri are all delicious. Samosa chat has become my staple food now. Manchurian was definitely something that was missing in the CU area.
