Lucas Local Oyster Bar

I’m going to go out on a very obvious limb and say Lucas Local is one of my fav restaurants in CT so far. There was only one other place that served top notch oysters prior to this, and I think we almost want to give this one to Lucas only because of their weekly specials. Because we have gone a few times, we were able to have the tuna poke oyster, and another variety with Sriracha and crispy shallots. We’ve also had other food varieties, including their lobster, roll those cold and hot and the hot lobster rolls probably one of my favorite that I’ve had in CT as well. Very generous portions, very clean seafood. The delightful desserts are to die for very creative and very comforting . The bartenders and staff are also quite attentive and engaging and really on top of their games. Highly

Great meal - terrific waitstaff - Stevie was awesome, friendly & genuine. We truly felt well cared for. Drinks were fantastic - we had the Mermaid's Garden and the Bark No Bite. The desserts were to die for - I've never had a better Panacotta. Food was very good to excellent! We will be back!

Very good service, atmosphere and food. Spicy Lolita is the drink. Spicy if you can handle it! We got the oysters which were amazing! Pork belly app was very tasty. Scallop dinner with slab bacon was very good! The steak was plain, not seasoned. I've had that happen at other restaurants and not sure why. All it needed was sea salt and maybe a little pepper and it would have been an 8 out of 10 but I would say it was a 6 or 7 for flavor. But it was good quality and a big portion, 12oz I believe. Espresso martini was excellent and the open face cookie for dessert was a great way to end the night.

David was the best! The food was perfect in temperature & balance, and the place was immaculately clean. The bar and restrooms have purse hooks, which is always appreciated. We started with bourbon drinks, oysters & crab legs, then had a scallops dish & venison dish, and finished with espressos and panna cotta. Everything was cooked perfectly and served on time.

I had always heard great things about Lucas Local, but my visit exceeded my expectations! The menu had a great variety for seafood lovers, and was sure to include good options for meat eaters as well. We're pretty new to trying oysters, but we knew we couldn't pass up the opportunity to have some while we were here because they were so fresh. Their special that night of oysters with pico de gallo, cilantro, and apples were the best oysters we've ever had! The quahog casino was fantastic, and I loved my linguine and clams, while my fiancé enjoyed his scallops, which came with a puréed squash and made a perfect dish for the fall.
