Sonny’s Asian Grinders & More

I was visiting my sister in Southbury and after reading some great reviews we decided to give this spot a try. We ordered takeout and got Pan Fried Dumplings, Spicy Egg Rolls, Teriyaki Chicken Grinder and Spicy Tuna Avocade Roll. Everything was fresh, had a great flavor and I thought the portions were perfect. We enjoyed all the food we ordered. I would recommend this place and we all will be back.

Why anyone would decide on a chain fast food when this place exists is beyond me! Stopped in for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and how GOOD it was! I ordered the Brassworks Special Grinder with Grilled steak, twice cooked pork belly, jalapeños, cucumbers, cilantro, pickled carrots, pickled onions, spicy mayo & avocado sauce. This lunch now haunts my hunger cravings until I can make it back here and order it again!

My mom and I were looking for lunch on a whim in Southbury, and decided to pop into Sonny’s since I had heard good things. Convenient counter-service style restaurant with a great menu. The Asian style sandwiches are so unique, and we enjoyed the steak teriyaki one! Delicious summer rolls, dumplings, and chicken yakitori as well. The staff member behind the counter was attentive throughout the meal, bringing us napkins and utensils, and even offering to clear our trash. This was exactly what we were looking for and was a nice, quick lunch. We would definitely come back!

My partner and I got the KBBQ steak and cheese grinder and the habachi shrimp grinder - both were really good! Glad we got a side of avocado sauce cuz I think it complimented the KBBQ well. The staff was friendly, the place was empty besides us (on a Tuesday afternoon), and the food was perfect. Would definitely come back and recommend to others! 10/10

Every experience I have had at Sonny’s Has been extremely pleasant. The staff is inviting and friendly and the food is top-notch. Highly recommend!!!
