King of the Roll

Everything was so delicious :o) we got 3 rolls, chicken karaage, and beef yakimaki. Absolutely amazing we were both giggling about good it was.

My husband and I had our first date here, almost 19 years ago. We haven’t been here in a while, but glad we swung by. It was empty at first which can deter customers in general, however it was just as usual. Cute little hidden local gem that continues to offer fresh, local seafood. Made with love our rolls were delicious as always. Service was great, food did not disappoint, and glad this classic sushi offering still stands. Thank you.

Great for lunch or dinner. Food is fresh. Good selection of sushi and rolls, very reasonably priced. Perfect for pre show meals if you're heading to the State or OLS, or a ballgame. Nice menu of hot meals - bentos, donburis, udon, etc. Unpretentious and comfortable. Service is fast and friendly.

I have never had a worse dining experience than at King of the Roll in Portland, Maine. Our server looked like he would rather do literally anything than acknowledge the people sitting in his section. It took 30 minutes just to get two sodas, and he didn’t even bother to take our order. What I assume was the manager had to come out and grab our slip because the server couldn’t be bothered. The restaurant wasn’t even busy. We ordered five rolls, and two of them were absolutely disgusting. Warm, mushy, and honestly inedible. I couldn’t even swallow a piece without feeling sick (and I actually did get sick later that night). When we politely asked to send the bad rolls back and get something else, the server said he wasn’t sure but would ask. The manager then came out and started yelling at

Delicious Asian cuisine. My husband and I had sushi, pork buns, bento box all super yummy! I absolutely loved my pork buns so flavorful!! The decor could be slightly updated. Good customer service, prices were reasonable, beers are great. We will definitely return!
