Pretty Good Overall, But Plantains Were Inedible I DoorDashed a plate of oxtails with sides. The food arrived hot, which I appreciated. The oxtails had good flavor, but they weren’t as tender as I’d hoped. My biggest issue was the plantains. After one bite, I had to spit it out. It was extremely tough, rubbery, and tasted off almost like it was old or overcooked. Definitely not what plantains should taste like. Overall, the food was pretty good, but for the price, I expected better quality and consistency especially on basic sides like plantains.

I recently enjoyed a standout oxtail dish that left a lasting impression. The oxtail was perfectly tender and braised, falling off the bone, and mildly spiced with a subtle hint of rosemary that added a lovely depth of flavor. The accompanying cabbage and carrots were crisp and fresh, which was surprising, considering it was buffet style, so this must’ve been cooked fresh earlier today. The rice and peas were fluffy and well-seasoned, soaking up the dish's flavors. The oxtail gravy was a touch oily, which is expected but it wasn’t ideal for my dad-bod, though it was undeniably delicious so I had to eat it all of course – for the review. The best part of the experience was the polite server, Maxine and the presentation of the food. Overall, a delightful meal with minor room for improvement.

This restaurant was recommended by someone I met online. I went to check it out. Maxine was our server. Her service and patience was top tier. Really awesome lady. The food was sooooo delicious!! We bought oxtail, curry goat, Mac and cheese, jerk pork and chicken. I was extremely satisfied. Definitely going back this Friday.

I stopped by Jamaican Bites because I’m getting into food review content, and I made sure to really put their menu to the test. I ordered the curry goat roti, BBQ jerk chicken, stewed chicken, mac & cheese, yams, and a peanut punch—and I was genuinely impressed. First off, the meat was crazy tender—like, damn near falling off the bone tender. Everything tasted well-seasoned, well-prepared, and balanced. The flavors blended smoothly and didn’t feel overpowering. What surprised me most was that some flavors leaned a little sweeter than I’m used to—in a good way. I’m used to jerk seasoning that smacks you in the face so hard you can’t taste anything else, but this jerk had flavor without the overload, and it let the food shine. My 1st time was March 1st 2026. The food was cool, oxtail gravy to salty, seasons in the food 🤢🤮the only thing good was the curry chicken. Rice and peas, cabbage 👎🏾 don't mention prices definitely too much!!! I could say more, but for me it's a 2 star.
