I ordered from here through Doordash. I'm a BBQ fanatic and just found out about this joint so I was excited to try a new spot. I ordered their Jtop's Original Sandwich Combo with slaw on my sammich, fries and a Coke. The fries were the kind with skins and fried soft and limp, the good kind. They were buried in some sort of seasoning that was better after I wiped it off. I expected fresh, wood fired BBQ bars on their webpage.The BBQ was not chopped, it looked to be ground in a blender and then patted into a burger shape and then heavily salted on a third of it. It had zero bark, crispy or even browned bits and had zero smoke at all. Today I came in with my family, after a friend recommended it to me. They told me to try the brisket, the pulled pork and all the sides. I got the combination plate that one of the front staff recommended. Everything was so good. The collards and Mac & cheese were amazing!! Also notice they have a 100 rating. We recently used JTops for catering our fire departments annual Christmas steak dinner. The food was all delicious, no complaints from anyone, which is hard when cooking steaks for 100 people! The servers made sure everything was readily available and were so genuinely nice! We will definitely use JTops again for our catering needs!

Very disappointed in the brisket! I stopped by J-Top's BBQ Shop in Clayton and bought 1 Ib of brisket to go. When I opened it in the parking lot, it looked overcooked and dry. I went back in and asked if they had any that wasn't so done, but the staff said all their brisket is cooked to well done. Unfortunately, it tasted just as dry as it looked — easily the worst brisket I've ever had. I ate half of it that night, and the rest is going to the wildlife out back. Definitely not what I expected from a BBQ place. Maybe the owner knows how to cook NC pork BBQ, but obviously doesn’t know how to cook beef brisket If there was a way to taste it less than one star, I would have
