J. Hicks On The Square

We drove 20 miles to dine at J Hicks On The Square because we heard they were using Beef Tallow in one of their friers. We ordered a couple drinks from the bar and we have 2 Thumbs up for the Hick's Breeze. I watched them use high brand products (pineapple juice and cranberry juice) so it was no surprise that this tasted good, and was effective. For dinner, we had battered fried fish (in Beef Tallow) with fries. It was delicious. Their homemade seafood sauce was a surprise hit. Fish was cooked perfectly and a nice size filet. Fry taste was very clean. No 'beef taste'--just clean and tasty. For dessert, the Hubs got the Girl Scout Cookie Mason Jar Delight, and I got the Hot Waffle Ice Cream Sandwich. Both were delicious. Had a very nice first experience here. Friends told us to swing by and try it. It happened to be a Wednesday, so it was "Burger Night". Both burgers were delicious, as were the fries and fried pickles. Our bartender/Server, Lee, was very friendly and engaging and makes a mean Old Fashion. Atmosphere is nice and the place feels very clean and will maintained. We'll definitely be back, and we hope Lee is slinging drinks again the next time!

First time to J. Hicks was a blast! I am up from Tennessee visiting in laws and swing by here and loved it! It was Wednesday night, they have trivia night going, and it was burger night! I got the breakfast burger and it was amazing! We split the chicken tenders for an appetizer because our waitress said it is breaded in Frosted Flakes, 10/10! Our waitress Kayla was super kind and welcoming, she made the experience super warm and kind. I will be returning on my next trip, I wish I had a place like this in my hometown.

We randomly pick a new place to try when we go to mercer. One trip to " J. Hicks on the square" and we are done with random picking. When I took a bite of the burger I ordered..I was so confident in them , I also ordered a chicken parm sandwich to go. My lord when I tasted it later that evening at home.. it was/is worth bragging about. A waitress named Maria took great care of us. She was very easy to talk to and when she was asked a few questions by us, it was like asking a friend, not an employee with a script. As we were getting up to leave, the owner came over and personally asked us about our experience.. I was very impressed. I come to J Hicks for The tasty food, cold draft beer and excellent service. Lee and the other girls are fantastic. A lot of times you can catch live performances for music different nights.
