Irondale Public Library

Don't particular care for certain staff here at the new library also not impressed with the new library super tiny in size too many restrictions not much privacy for remote work or study also was very annoyed with the family and children restroom the janitor never stocked the restroom with handsoap to wash your hands this is a safety hazard a brandnew library and the soap dispenser isn't working and you never repair it or add more soap to the manual soap container very unsanitary their hours of operation super limited compared too other public libraries if you want better hours and need more resources I suggest you look elsewhere overall not impressed

Irondale Public Library is an absolute gem in our community. The librarians and staff are always warm, knowledgeable, and eager to help with any need, whether it’s finding a book, using technology, or supporting local programs. The atmosphere is welcoming and peaceful, and their dedication to serving all ages truly shines. We are so lucky to have this outstanding library and its excellent team!

This Library is small and tucked away, but do not take small as a bad thing, more like cozy. The library staff greets everyone one when they enter and are friendly and helpful. It is right across from the Irondale police station and few yards from train tracks (yes you can here the trains go by from inside the building). If you stay in or around the area it is convenient, as parking can feel up quickly but in my experience is not a problem is you dont mind walking, which I don't.

I went in here a few weeks ago to renew my Jefferson county library card and I was so surprised at the selection of this library! I rented a wonderful book and the librarian that helped me was so kind and helpful. I can’t wait to return my book and check out another!

As of right now they have decent people working. I was able to call them and email them a PDF file and they was able to print it off for me. I had never done that before it was really cool that they did that for me. The prints and copies there are $0.20 a piece that includes color. They are not a busy library so it's not Packed out. they also include curbside service from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. I believe Tuesday to Friday.
