Great White Grill

Hyper Local Old Skool Joint! This cozy restaurant and bar is mostly filled with locals and for good reason. The staff is friendly and attentive, the atmosphere says “we like it this way” and the food is genuinely very good. Highlights include the cheesesteak, gyro sandwich and arguably the best pizza on the island!

We ordered pizzas from Great White Grill, to take home. Great White was recommended by Sanibel locals. We arrived on a weekend afternoon and the place was fairly busy. A number of football fans were intently watching the game from the barstools and some of the tables. The atmosphere was dedicated to Pittsburgh Steelers decor, primarily from their better years, when they were a good team. I remember those teams and it made for an interesting theme. There were fans present with shirts of various teams, not just the Steelers, all of whom were enjoying themselves. Overall, the entire place could benefit from a thorough scrubbing. Second time having the fried chicken sandwich and man!! It always hits the spot. Served on ciabatta bread, it tastes amazing. People working there are amazing and the owner is always there cooking up the good stuff. This place had the beach vibe and super friendly. Definitely recommended and will definitely come back :)

One of the worst food experiences I have had in a long time. I over paid lots of money for a couple pizzas supposed to have pepperoni, sausage and other toppings. There were little to no toppings on the pizza. Just cheese. There was so much oil it was dripping through the box I should have returned to ask for a full refund! Deceptive website pictures.

We got to Great White on a Friday night since the locals had recommended it to us, and we loved it! The atmosphere was great, but the pizza was better. We live in Chicago and love pizza so we were blown away by Great White's quality. One of the people in our group needed a gluten free pizza, and thought it was one of the best gluten free pizzas they had ever had! (just ask for it to be "well done") Our son, who is 13, was infatuated with the football themed decor. John, the owner, has a very cool collection of autographed NFL football helmets showcased and for sale. They were super interesting, and kept his interest as John was more than willing to chat with him. I'd highly recommend Great White for beers and pizza to anyone who wants the real deal!
