Bleu Rendezvous French Bistro

We will be thinking about this night and this meal for a long time. We sat at the chef's table which overlooks the kitchen. Chef Pierre along with his son Mateo and Mateo's friend Matt kept us well fed and entertained the entire meal. We got the 830 reservation which meant that we closed the place down and we had a great time doing it. The Foie gras was so good. It melted in our mouths. The french onion soup was rich and flavorful. My brother in law and I had the Fisherman's Pot. It was incredible. The addition of champagne lightens the dish and takes it to a whole other level. And while the food was fantastic, the hospitality was even better. Loved it before the ownership changes but the new owners is from France and a gem. Quality and lived up to the expectations. It’s more comfortable now and loved what the new owners have done with the place. Nice having a genuine French spot on island Worth a visit especially for special occasions

This is the second time in two weeks that we have had dinner at the Bleu Rendezvous. Both times the service and meals have been excellent! Sean has been our server both times and he has done a wonderful job! Last week my wife and I both started with the French onion soup. It is a delicious hearty soup. Last week my wife had the preselected menu with the trout and the wine pairing with each course. She thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the scallops, which were delicious. Tonight my wife has the special, which were veal sweet breads which she liked very much. I had the halibut, which was wonderful. If you are looking for a delicious dinning experience, Bleu Rendezvous should be on your list. Reservations are a must! Sitting at the Chef’s Counter tonight, got to watch the magic happen, very fun!

This the Classic French restaurant you’re going to share with good friends! We were a group of 10 foodies from various and distinct backgrounds. We did the prefix dinner with wine pairings. Our expectations were high based on what we read about this jem and none was disappointed. The escargot and onion soup were spot on, the trout almondine and Beef Bourguignon were exceptional, but by far the star of the meal was the steak frites. A sublime surprise accompanied by a bordelaise sauce, a side of béarnaise and a small crock of blue cheese sauce shared by the chef! The wine pairings were all from Bordeaux, decanted and beyond excellent. Do not forget to order dessert! I can’t wait for our next rendezvous!

We had a delicious meal here last night and were lucky to get the chef's table which was a lot of fun. I had the foie gras and fillet steak, both of which were excellent. We could have spent less if we had selected the menu of the day which many were having but I am glad we didn't. The food here is high quality and as good as any French restaurant in which I have eaten. The restaurant itself is cosy and welcoming as are all the team and the chefs, one of whom is the French owner. I heard that it is the best restaurant on Sanibel Island and I definitely would agree with that. Don't miss it.
