Great Turtle Brewery & Distillery

Had an amazing lunch experience at Great Turtle! We ordered Cajun Chicken Flat Bread and Nashville hot chicken Mac and cheese. Both were great, especially the Nashville Hot chicken Mac and Cheese was finger licking good! The spices were awesome and the Mac and cheese was super creamy. The servers were very friendly too. Highly recommend this place serving amazing food and great street views!!!

Great Turtle Brewing is a great option if you’re looking for a classic brewery vibe and food. The Mexican Street Corn dip was an excellent starter. It didn’t have much corn in it but was cheesy and delicious. The Wings were also quite good. We asked to have half and half of two flavors but they said they do not do that. We had to get the wings naked and then have side sauces for the wings, not the worst thing but just not ideal. The summer berry salad was very fresh and the dressing was excellent. The Brisket Mac and Cheese was fantastic! The Whitefish and chips was underwhelming for how much Whitefish is praised in the region. For gluten free options, they had gluten free buns for sandwiches. Got a good amount of food for your dollar. Very good meal, flavorful and filling. Had a nice little kids menu. . Just wish the alcohol menu's showed prices. If it did, I didn't see it. But food was really good. Would gladly come back for a full meal. Nice easy place to find on the island for food.

Staying on the island and getting to eat here once all the day-timers are here is key. Pearl, our waitress, was AMAZING. She suggested I get the flight with 2-4oz and a different 2-4oz so I could have the best of both worlds. Superb! And the street corn appetizer—to die for! Don’t miss out! This place is a winner!

If you’re visiting Mackinac Island, I highly recommend visiting the great turtle brewery for either lunch or an early dinner. With exceptional service and phenomenal food and tasty beer, It was a great stop during our adventures.
