Galena Inn

My wife and I stayed at the Galena Inn a week before Valentine’s day and we must say, it was one of the most memorable stays we’ve ever had. Paulina, the inn keeper, was so incredibly kind and hospitable, and she prepared us an amazing breakfast both mornings we were there. The Inn itself is so well kept, quaint, and really makes you feel like you’re living in the old days. The location of the Inn is a short distance away from the main city center. We enjoyed walking around and trying all of the delicious local food and snack spots (most notably, Big Bills’s Sandwich shop, Great American Popcorn Company, and Corner Churro Cafe). The locally brewed Galena coffee was out of this world too. We highly recommend the Galena inn and we hope your stay was as memorable as ours.

Located in a nice neighborhood at the top of Galena, this historic home needs some love and maintenance. We arrived to find the front door locked and had to text the Inn Keeper (Paulina) to gain access. We had a few minutes to look around the property. The front porch was a mess and the furniture was filthy. The house had signs of rotted wood and was sorely in need of new paint, everywhere. Landscapers were working on the grounds, so they looked better by the time we checked out. ||Inside of the B&B, the first floor was pretty nice with historic artwork and a pool table. Staircase was also beautiful. Our room had a few issues. There was a Jacuzzi whirlpool tub in our bathroom, the hot and cold faucet handles were missing and there was no stopper for the bath. We had a great 2-night stay at the Galena Inn. We booked it for the experience of staying in a beautiful and historic setting close to main street for the holiday. The innkeeper, Paulina, was very responsive, gracious, and pleasant - there's a nice common area with comfortable chairs, snacks and beverages, a chess table, and pool table. She cooked a great breakfast of quiches and pancakes on the days we were there and was flexible in making a different plate for me with a dietary need. Anything we needed, she was able to respond. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I highly recommend booking this inn for a local trip close to main street Galena. The grounds looked great too, but we visited in winter so we did not chill outside - will have to make a return trip in summer to experience the

We had an incredible experience at the Galena Inn! The originality of the building was unbelievable with gorgeous woodwork all around, beautiful paintings and cozy rooms. Pauline made sure we had a wonderful stay by providing everything we needed to be comfortable. She also taught us about the history of Galena and made us delicious breakfast. We will definitely be back to stay in this beautiful estate!

Girlfriend trip (4 of us) Mid-November had ideal weather. Kerrie the owner shared mansion history with us over delicious Breakfast. Affordable, clean, friendly staff, ample parking, bedding very comfortable and water pressure excellent on 3rd floor! Loved it all ~ thank you for allowing others to enjoy. P.S. Kerrie ~ on our way home we found the antique fruit bowls in Elizabeth. There’s 2 left at the store for you 😉
