The Steamboat House Bed and Breakfast

Husband and I just back from a 3-night stay at Steamboat House. The house is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. We stayed in “Bess”, which has a private screened porch where we sat in the evening, and even it was spotless. Carol and her daughter, Kate, were terrific hosts, from the lovely breakfasts (different each day) and varied wines and cheese each night, to the little extras like ice to keep our picnic cool and a place to lock our bikes. Easy walk to town and to the Galena River Trail trailhead. Would definitely stay again!

Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend vacation stay than The Steamboat House. My mother and I came to Galena exclusively for this B&B and it surpassed our expectations- from the stunning interior and cozy rooms to the excellent food and great location. Carol was a wonderful host with impeccable details that made our trip to Galena unforgettable. A total gem, would highly recommend to any other traveler!!

Fantastic B&B! Our host was the best, excellent homemade breakfast! We have stayed in Galena 12+ times over the years. This was our overall best experience. Also met some great guests at breakfast.

If you love quaint, nostalgic, and historic, this is the perfect place. Carol adds personal touches of a homemade breakfast served in the dining room, coffee at 7 am, wine & cheese at 5. She even had homemade cookies on our last night. Bedrooms are located on the 2nd floor & downtown is about a 1/2 mile walk.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. 10ft high ceiling. I couldn't decide which room to sit in, they were all clean and inviting. Breakfast was perfect Carol was very kind. We had motorcycles and due to rain she offered many times to give her space (covered) to us for shelter. So nice. We didn't ask, she just offered. Front porch nice and location very close to main street.
