Freeport Community Library

The library was beautiful! I was particularly impressed with the young adult section. I have never seen such a diverse collection of books in such a small library! A clear effort was made to include stories centering LGBT and other marginalized folks. The bathroom was clean, (and had free menstrual products!) the library was air conditioned, and the staff were welcoming.

Very loving librarians and helpful 😍. They know their “know-how”. Smiles to everyone who comes in. I read a book (can’t remember the title 🙁) I remember one part of that book is “do you know the biggest word in the world is?” At first the main character believed it came from the movie based on is the movie “Mary Poppins”. Crazy to say, he said “the biggest word in the world is smiles”. It made me laugh out loud. The illustration from that book said it all 😂😆! Everyone including the librarians can understand what I mean. Just tell me the title and smiles can be spread everywhere in the world including myself 😀

An exceptional resource even for this wealthy town ! It was a cold wintry Spring day when my wife and I retreated there to bask in books, magazines and cozy comfort! I gravitated to the wonderfully sunny reading room with comfy stuffed chairs. The sign on the door said the room could be reserved - since there were only 4 patrons in the library ( with the staff of 6) I thought there wouldn't be much competition for that sun. WRONG ! After a few minutes a polite young woman informed me that I could indeed reserve this large empty sunny space. I declined and assured her that I would happily vacate if it was indeed reserved. She said it wasn't but strongly insisted that she could reserve it for me. For some reason, this insistence got my dandruff up so I collected my hat and magazines and left

The selection of books, magazines, audio books/media, children's/teen sections are wonderfully curated. The computer/print services are quite helpful and the staff is always kind and courteous. We appreciate all the effort and energy you put forward to support and benefit our community. Thank you,

Full service library! The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. The kids' section is great. Fun unique opportunities: Kids Read to the Dogs, Chocolate Bash. And the grounds are lovely too! What's not to love!?!
