El Sopon Mexican Food Truck

I love their chicken birria tacos and no one does it like El Sopon! Trust me, I’ve tried. I know chicken isn’t typical for birria, but it’s so good! I’ve also had the chicken tacos a few times. Also delicious, but less indulgent than the birria. Service is always prompt and kind and prices are reasonable. I wish they had a brick and mortar, but I’ll keep coming back when I’m in the area (from D.C.).

El Sopon is a stationary food truck located in a parking lot. There are three tables each with an umbrella that offer cover from the sun. I pulled up on a Thursday midday and from ordering to in my hands it was about 20 minutes. I appreciated the person taking the orders was giving everyone a heads up on the wait times. If you want to reduce your idle time you can call ahead to order but know it will take about 20-30 minutes as well. Menu is in español and English. They've got all the standards, tacos, tortas, burritos, had Salvi pupusas too... I use to shy away from places that did both tacos and pupusas because about 8 years back the experience in establishments that served both was always disappointing for this LA Mexican. I've bought food here twice.And both times it has been excellent. The photo doesn't do justice with how good the food actually is. Best Sopa I've had. Tacos are full and tasty!

I ordered the Birria tacos and a taco platter (only comes with 2 tacos and side of rice and beans). Let me say that the Birria had got to be one of the best!!! I love the crunchy bits of the cheese on the taco shell and their consomé was so delicious I drank it all up 🤣 Packed with lots of protein too. Was not expecting this place to be that great but I will be returning for more!! I also got the horchata which was delicious! They have chairs next to the truck if you want to eat there but no place to wash your hands so just be mindful of that. There was a wait for the food though, I think I had to wait like 15-20 min. Pupusas are so good! I had 2 pupusas beans and cheese. The beans are fresh and the cheese is pulling so nice. I also got the birria tacos which were solid. To top it off the agua de melon is 100% natural, a little too sweet for my tasting but I just dilute it and I have to my liking plus more to drink. 10/10 would recommend! Delicious! Outside dinning btw.
