Dope Dough

Backwater Books has graciously opened up their outdoor patio to Paul and his Dope Dough crew, who are slinging some seriously delicious Korean-inspired and classic pizzas. We tried the Mandu (dumpling), Shroom, and Korean Picnic pies, and each one was an absolute flavor bomb. These pizzas aren’t just good—they’re memorable. Expect bold flavors, creative toppings, and a vibe that sticks with you.

The kimchi platter pizza was delicious. The bulgogi and kimchi toppings were a great idea! However, the pizza was super burnt on the bottom to where my gf couldn't eat any. I finished the whole pizza, because the kimchi really pulled it together but the burnt after taste kinda took away entirely from the pizza as well 11" for $17 is worth it if not burnt. Please clean the oven

A fantastic experience, pizza is on point, we had a Korean picnic pizza on the patio which was totally delicious and the staff were super pleasant. There's also a bar and bookstore combination upstairs. Come for the total experience! Highly recommend.

Such a cool spot in historic Ellicott City - a pizza stand at a bookstore with a bar! The pies are incredible, with both classic options and unique Korean fusion ones. The mushroom pizza is my personal favorite. Plus, the owner is one of the nicest, friendliest people you’ll ever meet. Definitely worth checking out!

Ordered the dumpling pizza and split the Korean picnic with my friend. Tasted exactly like a dumpling! Would definitely order both again. 10/10 recommend.
