Dinner's Ready

I'll put it like this, I'm patient but I'm not into waiting in lines for more than 20 minutes if I can help it. I once stood in line at Dinner's Ready for 1 hour because it is that good. The owner is very nice and doesn't skimp on portion sizes. The prices are very fair. The plate in the image below was $16 for reference. They serve a mix of Soul Food and Jamaican dishes. The Curry Goat was flavorful and falling off the bone. If it's Friday or Sunday and you have some cash, go check them out.

Amazing. Bring cash. Best soul food I know of in North Carolina. Actually sometimes thankful she is only open limited hours 2 days a week or we would be too tempted to come here too often. Be forewarned, she takes all of July off for vacation and to avoid the heat... And the line the first Friday in August will be long.

Some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life! I’m so used to eating here every weekend, I’m already craving it when I wake up on Fridays! Some of my best plates are the pot roast or the WINGS! Everything is always so good, hot and fresh. Consistently tasty week after week! A hidden gem in the city!

Best soul food I’ve ever had. Incredible flavor and texture in every dish. Huge portions and a great price. Take out only. The line started forming about 30 mins before opening.

Outstanding drove from Jacksonville to get there. We had a spot like this but they closed down unfortunately. Great Hospitality explained everything very well. The interaction with the customers that were before me was Excellent. I Definitely will be returning to this location.
