Food was decent. Got the mixed plate: the pork and burger patty were pretty tender and decently flavorful. The teriyaki chicken was honestly a bit tough and could’ve used more flavor. Also got the blueberry cream cheese scone: it’s definitely massive, very mildly sweet, and soft, but not life changing. No indoor or outdoor seating. Small parking lot out front. You get the scone and other dessert items from the bakery inside
Reasonably priced with large portion plate lunch. Locals recommended and saw a US Army 3-star general grabbing take-out lunch. Not overrun with tourists, but no place to sit down. Take it down to the nearby park for a great picnic with the chickens.
We've been coming to Diamond Head Grill for over 20 years and I'm not sure if this was a one off experience or if something has changed but the food quality, quantity and preparation was way different this time. I ordered the ahi fish plate and the salmon fish plate with brown rice. Both fish were so overcooked and dry that it was really hard to eat. The portions were much smaller than usual as well and felt a bit light for $43 for the two plates. We also tried the pumpkin crunch pie, lemon crunch cake and carrot cake from the market. They were all decent but not great.
This Lemon Crunch cake was one of the best cakes I’ve ever had. After we finished our slice, we went back and bought another! Light and fluffy w/ lemon cream and a toffee crunch coating. Will definitely buy again next time I’m on the island. Mahalo!
I’ve never been here before but my brother said the food good and he knows the owner from our hometown in Waipahu. I didn’t know I was going spend over $100 total. But it was worth it. Got 5 mixed plates and over $30 worth of deserts. The blueberry scone was so big, can feed 3 people. And the pumpkin crunch was so ono I never like share. The plate lunch had so much meat I could eat for days. And the people that work there were nice, friendly and making us laugh about the deserts. Mahalo Diamond Grill for the awesome food and hospitality.
