Cuban Island Restaurant

Found this gem by chance and I am happy I did! The fried pork, plantains, and peas and rice were remarkable. I also had a Cuban coffee. I recommend getting a side of the cilantro sauce and hot sauce. The portions are huge. The lovely waitress said it was her first day, but she was excellent.

Wonderful food and great service! The staff was incredibly friendly and very helpful with our large group. They take call ahead seating, too! Could not recommend the large servings and clean facilities enough for the Roanoke area.

Had a great quick meal in Roanoke. I'm from Miami originally and it's hard to find authentic Cuban food, but this place definitely has it! Get the ropa vieja, you won't regret it.

Ropa vieja and Cuban sandwiches were incredibly tasty. Bread tastes so fresh. The cafe con leche was perfect. Papas rellanas also delicious. Beautiful plants and very kind family business. Go to this place asap.

Family-centered. Explain menu options well. Very welcoming and accommodating. Lovely decor. Bottled drinks and ice given in cups also. Priced nice. Give it a try. Totally recommend. 5 stars all day!
