Cips Place Restaurant

Okay, so I'm standing for Sanibel, as well as Cips. As we all know, Sanibel was decimated by Hurricane Ian in late September of 2022. However, the latest review by J. O. (aside from this one) was just a year ago?? Chips hasn't reopened after Ian (although I hope they do). That review was very negative & vague. Also, Cips did have a burger, but it was only about $14, not $30. Most of their food was NOT "pedestrian" food. I question the validity of said review. So, as someone who visits Sanibel yearly & visited Cips more than once each year since they opened, I want to add my honest review. Cips was always clean & inviting. We were on the island all week last week and ate here at the end of the week. It was the best food we had all week! The restaurant was super clean! Our waitress, Anna, was wonderful! The coconut grouper and truffle fries were delicious!

What a great place! We met a couple of friends for dinner last night and we had a great meal and a great time! Our friends had the triple tail fresh catch special and they both devoured it and the fresh clipped green beans that came with it! My beautiful wife had the enchilada stack that had just the right heat and was amazing and she cleaned her plate! As for me, I had the Rigatoni Bologenese with sausage, beef and bacon in a creamy tomato Bologenese sauce and the sunset shrimp appetizer! The shrimp was in a red sauce that had just the right amount of heat to it and it was a generous portion! All in all it was a great night with friends and chef Danny did an amazing job! Thanks!

If you like to over pay for pedestrian food, such as an average hamburger for $30, go here. If you like waste money, go here. If you like mediocre service, go here. Our experience was awful and we will not return. (Pre Ian) 2 stars for atmosphere, because you can sit outside.

NICE ATMOSPHERE. Not busy Sunday evening. Decent ambience and attentive staff. Good kids menu and a good place for families. Burgers and wings were a hit with the teens. One teen remarked it was the best burger he had! Pasta with marinara sauce for the younger one. The mahi sandwich was certainly alright. Not the best I’ve had but not bad. Overall, it was a close bet for 5 stars but I gave Cip’s the benefit of the doubt.
