Burney’s Sweets & More of Clayton, NC

Speciality scratch made crossiants to die for. Qaint half of Boulevard coffee with the most amazing crossiants in various flavors. Other bakery specialties are available until they run out. Coffee and other savory foods available on the Boulevard side. We enjoyed 15 specialty crossiants, a bear claw, a cake pop, breakfast sandwich, jalapeño cheddar bagel with J/C cream cheese and a strawberry/ cream mocha coffee. 8 of us were very pleased. Couldn't nab any pictures as it didn't last that long, after arrival. YUMMM!

Today was our first time visiting Burneys and we were so impressed at the selection we had to choose from. The team there was super friendly and did a great job at explaining the different sweets. I ended up choosing a variety and EVERYTHING was delicious. I’m a picky donut person and the glazed croissants were magical! The blueberry scone was the perfect consistency and the flavor and texture were on point! The counter area was very clean which I appreciated. Prices were fair, I found value in what I purchased. Highly recommend.

I came to boulevard to get coffee and this bakery is inside. I got a tiramisu cake and day old croissonts. The day old croissonts are what you'd expect, but they are half the price of fresh ones and still good, especially for the price. The tiramisu cake was just okay. It is pretty small and it is $6. That is the price I pay for a similar size cheesecake in a touristy part of Seattle, so I was a little surprised on the price. The whipped cream on top and the yellow cake were good, but I didn't get much coffee flavor. I wish the coffee flavor came through more because the rest of the cake was great. My girlfriend used to come here a lot when she lived in the area and she says this place does have a lot of good stuff. Maybe try something other than the tiramisu cake if you come here.

Walked in to a group of young ladies working behind the counter just to not be greeted or feel welcomed. We proceeded to look at the desserts after about 2-3 minutes go by, someone finally asked “how can i help you?” One young lady sipped on her drink and looked us right in the eye but never asked if we needed assistance. Its sad when a business actually has good desserts and great potential just to be ran into the ground with bad service. We will be going to bernies again, just not the one in Clayton NC, Main street.

This was an absolutely wonderful treat! We just happened to see if there was a bakery in the area and stopped into this one and it was packed. There is a reason it was packed, it was fantastic! Their filled and topped croissants offered something that was not over the top sweet but was a nice mix and they were so imaginative! One daughter got the banana pudding filled croissant and the other got death by chocolate. I ate a blondie but it was so rich I could only eat half and again, amazing. I highly recommend that you stop in for a treat. In the picture you'll find the Bavarian cream filled croissant we got to go. My kids wouldn't allow me to take pictures of the other ones because they wanted to devour them too quickly.
