Bad Ass Coffee Kaimukī

Bad Ass Coffee in Kaimuki is a fantastic spot if you are looking for high quality, flavorful coffee. The drinks themselves were great and exactly what I was hoping for. If you're a fan of strong, smooth coffee with that unique Kona flair, you won't be disappointed by the menu. However, visiting this location requires a bit of a strategy. The parking is slim to none, which is typical for Kaimuki but still a major hurdle. Once you actually get inside, the shop is often packed with people, making it feel a bit cramped. Additionally, it can take quite a while to get your drink if you order at the counter. My biggest recommendation is to order ahead online. I ordered a strawberry matcha and it looked like this... it tasted like strawberry milk and I could taste the granulated sugar at the bottom. Im pretty sure they didn't even put matcha in it. I told them and they offered to remake it but it had already taken an additional 10 minutes than the rest of the drinks so I just left. It was frustrating how they didnt just say that they couldn't make it instead of trying and miserably failing.

Chai latte is delicious!!! BUT...I ordered a 20 ounce online. Went in, grabbed it, and went home. When I got home I saw that it was nowhere near full. I measured with an 8 ounce cup and there was less than 16 ounces of product in the cup. I know they just opened, but a 25% underpour is not acceptable. I went back a few days later, told them what happened, they apologized and gave me another one for free. Mahalo!

Cute new cafe. The 100% Kona is reasonably priced and made to order in a French press. Also their Mana drinks are AMAZING, I recommend the “reef racer” Staff is friendly and efficient. 10/10 All around

Another chill cafe to sit and enjoy a smoothie on the Kaimuki strip. Despite the pastries and coffee not being of ‘excellent’ quality, it is plenty good enough to keep customers satisfied with lots of seating, outlets, and a restroom. I hope they keep the standards high and keep providing quality places for people to relax. They even sell their own brand coffee, I’ll have to come back & try some soon.
