Last week I had picked up 2 coffees 1 for me and one for my girlfriend. A cappuccino and an americano. When I got home we both sat down sipped our coffees and looked at each other and said does your coffee taste off? And to our surprise both coffees had a strange “cleaning product” taste My girlfriend promptly called and was met with an apology and was told to come back and say the manager said to tell them the next 2 coffees were on the house. Today we came in to get those coffees and a tall white young man with a blonde perm and a shorter girl with straight hair were working. They claimed this was impossible and treated us as if we were lying. A few questions to clarify would be fine but we were made to feel less than and like we were trying to get free coffee. Alkemy is one of Flemington’s best coffee shops! Their staff is so welcoming, and they’re especially kind even if we request multiple adjustments to our drinks. I love the cardamom rose latte, and you can get it iced as well! It’s a coffee-based drink, sweet and floral with the cardamom aftertaste, and rose petals on top. We love shopping around (they sell things from small board games to body oils to tea leaves), and the atmosphere is super unique!

Alkemy Coffee is exactly what a neighborhood coffee shop should be. Great coffee, a warm atmosphere, and a true family feel the moment you walk in. This is a family-run business in the best sense—kids around, the dog nearby, owners who genuinely care and treat everyone like part of the community. It’s a place to slow down, talk, and feel welcome—not rushed, not transactional. Flemington is better for having Alkemy, and once you visit, you’ll understand why people keep coming back. Highly recommended.

My favorite hidden gem! Just spent an utterly enjoyable Saturday morning browsing the Stangl farmers market with an Alkemy concoction in hand, then drifted through the Kevin Von Holterman art gallery next door where I met Ben (Alkemy co-owner) and chatted with Kevin. The barista at Alkemy customized my Winter Spice Latte with oatmilk and it was creamy, warm, and just the right amount of sweet and spice. Definitely go!

Great mom & pop coffee shop in a quaint historic building. Enjoyed a goth latte, the blueberry flavor is subtle. We were just passing through town, but it seems like a good place to hang out and work on a laptop or catch up with friends.
