Yergy's State Road BBQ

From out of town and had an extra hour to stop and wanted to try something local. Very glad that I did. From the friendliness of the staff (Millie was my server and very helpful picking out my meal) and the kitchen staff being very pleasant. It was a treat from start to finish. I had the brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, baked beans, and waffle fries and everything was insanely fresh and extremely filling. Pit Master Matt was an absolute blast to talk to and very informative on everything with the menu. He clearly cares for everything he puts into the place and I am very glad to support this.

Stopped by for lunch. Since this was my first time there, I did the 2 meat basket. I chose pulled pork and ribs with the sides of baked beans and potatoe salad. Pulled pork was good, but the ribs were outstanding. Amazing flavor and fell off the bone. At the top of the best tasting ribs I have ever had. Beans were good, and so was potatoe salad, but wow, on those ribs.

What a fantastic diamond in the rough! The building looks like your standard roadside diner, yet the food offered within is extraordinary. I ordered the 2-meat platter, which comes with two sides. From the many meat options, I chose brisket and ribs. For my sides, I elected the mac & cheese and coleslaw. The BBQ brisket had a deep smoky flavor that was delicious even without adding sauce. No knife needed here as the beef separated with the slightest pressure from my plastic fork. On the table were four sauces to choose from: Tangy; Sue Tang; Classic; Sweet & Smoky. I tried them all. Most were too sweet for me. Sue Tang was my favorite. The BBQ ribs were truly falling off the bone. The new mac stack sammie was absolutely delicious! Toasted bun, succulent meats and creamy, gooey mac and cheese! The staff was warm and friendly as always. Plus, Malcolm McDowell just filmed movie scenes there yesterday! Yergy's is a must visit if you're near Bluffton, IN.

My husband and I tried this place for the first time on a Friday night. There was no wait to order at the counter, but it did take a while for our food to come out. The food was not good. My husband had the pulled chicken sandwich with a side of waffle fries. He says the pulled chicken was okay but the fries were burnt. I had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of coleslaw. The bun to my sandwich was Grilled so much the bottom was hard. The pulled pork was ehh but the sweet and Smokey sauce was okay. We shared a side of mac & cheese that was bad. The cheese was chunky and gross, and my husband said there was “no seasoning to be found - not even salt.” Additionally, the tables, booths, and chairs were run down. There were political signs in the bathroom and on the entry doors. We will not
