The Hoosier House

They recently changed their hours to be open on Sunday which we love. The servers are kind, and thorough. The food came out quick, and was all cooked well. A simple breakfast spot that does to trick! So so affordable. $20 for two people to eat a full plate and two pancakes.

My impressions: One terribly overworked server/greeter/cashier/salad~soup maker. Long waits for food, several unhappy tables. My breakfast was mostly lukewarm. Unmelted cheese on my eggs. Potatoes that were tough somehow. Extra margarine on the toast I ordered 'dry'. And the unmistakable aroma of mop water wafting through the air, because hell, why not? The server was doing her best, no fault there. But I would be ashamed to call myself the owner of this place.

This is a pretty good place to eat. Portions are large and at a very good cost. The King Burger is cooked well and juices when bit into. The bottom bun will be wet after a few bites. Ask for extra napkins if you order it. My wife's biscuits and grave were good. She loved the biscuits but said the gravy could use a little more pepper. That's just her preference. French fries are thicker cut and cooked well. Ice tea could be stronger, but that's just my preference. Good place to fill you up at a great value.

The only reason i’m giving 5 stars is for the service we had to get from another waitress. I came in early around 7:30 with friends to get breakfast. It took a while for our waitress to get us our drinks and then she disappeared.We didn’t get refills on our drinks until another waitress came around and we had to tell her that we haven’t even ordered yet. She gladly filled our coffee cups up and took our order. The other waitress never even came around. The one with tattoos delivered our food and kept our cups filled with a bright smile. I asked what happened to our waitress she never came back to check up on us. The one with tattoos apologized and took great care of us.

Food was great waitresses were great but for some reason the kitchen can’t seem to make all your food at one time you may get part of your order be done and waiting for the rest it’s truly sad especially for waitresses who have to endure the questions because of poor management of the kitchen . Has so much potential just not being led properly
