I've only been in once... ATMOSPHERE: It's a mix of a convenience store, a little bit of retail and take-out restaurant all in one. FOOD: Baked Chicken Breaded bone-in thighs covered in a light brown gravy with sides of canned corn, rice, and potato egg mac salad. The chicken was cooked almost perfect, a few pink areas but tasted great. Rice was good. The mac salad was almost tasteless - definitely needs more mayo. Portion size is perfect, meaning a little on the big side! SERVICE: I called ahead and my order was ready and waiting. Service was friendly. OVERALL: Small and simple menu. I'd go back but gotta make sure I have some extra mayo to mix in that mac salad.
Quick and easy plate lunch take out window! Service was soo friendly and we enjoyed our shoyu chicken plate lunch out by the picnic tables. They offer “mini” sizes too which is perfect, hubby got the full size. Will be back!
Ordered 2 laulau ($10/each) and 1 freshly made poi ($10) takeout. The staff and owners are very kind and cheerful. The poi was made fresh that morning and was 3-finger poi. I could have added some water to the poi to thin it out and make it soupier, but I just ate it as is. Very thick and rich and slightly sweet. Delicious. The laulau were piping hot and wrapped in foil. The steamed luau leaves were a bit salty, but when mixed with the sweet poi, they were delicious. Lots of pork inside and a small piece of butterfish inside, too. My brother and I shared one laulau and split the poi, and it was plenty!! I would visit again when back on Maui. Thank you.
Had to stop by on this visit to the island for their pork lau lau. It as the first time I had the dish and it did not let me down! The staff were super kind and warm, and during the hand over I could feel just how hefty the food was. The pork was JUICY and tender, and accompanied with all the usual suspects. Hours are short but worth it if you can make it!
Simply perfect. Best authentic Hawaiian bbq of the trip. Gorgeous view of the bay and the smell is just incredible. Combo plate is the move - don’t forget to suck the bone marrow. They had grilled cheese for our 9 month old and sides were kimchi, Mac salad, corn, rice. We also got sweet potato (ube) pie
