OK first and foremost I Think this is probably some of the best food in reading when it comes to pastries and baked goods. This place actually reminds me of places I have found in my travels. Except conveniently located in the center of Reading. Now I’m writing this On the grand opening and did wait 1 1/2 hours and I just want to say that the restaurant or owner or whoever’s idea was to give free pastries to the line was a really good idea. It kind of broke up the time and made me feel like it was worth waiting because I could actually taste the product that I had never had before. I recommend this place, it’s fairly priced and I think the quality of food is very good.
What a great opening day here at Virginia’s cafe and market! The lines were long with support from family, friends & community! Staff is excellent & prepared. A beautiful Portuguese cafe located in the downtown of Reading MA that brings authentic Portuguese culture & food to the table! I got the “casa” a Portuguese roll with white cheese, prosciutto, tomato and hot sauce which was beyond delicious! Followed by a signature banana chocolate chip latte as one of their seasonal drinks (which was also delicious) they have amazing merch and imported goods from the Azores. I can’t say how great of an addition this place is to have in the north shore! Makes your drive to Fall River be less frequent to get the good good!
Stopped by Virginia’s Café & Market for their grand opening today, and it was so nice to see the community show up the way they did. The whole space feels welcoming, and thoughtfully put together. The market side was such a nice surprise too. They have so many Portuguese staples that a lot of us grew up with, and for anyone who’s Portuguese, especially Azorean. I got a warm pastel de nata that was absolutely delicious, along with a linguiça, egg, and cheese on a Portuguese muffin, and both were so good. Everything tasted fresh, comforting, and made with a lot of care. You can really tell there was a lot of love put into creating this place. It was such a nice experience overall, and I’ll definitely be back. I can already tell this is going to become one of my regular spots. If you’re in
Great portuguese/azorean -influenced cafe with delicious coffee, pastries and sandwiches--all delicious. Many authentic Portuguese products. Perfect stop on the way to the commuter rail station
Delicious gluten free options. Enjoyed the Mista sandwich and banana bread latte! Will definitely be going back.
