US Foods CHEF'STORE

The Chef Store is US Foods' retail outlet, and is open to the public. It's great to be able to buy items normally for commercial restaurant supply as a private individual. You can basically do most of your grocery shopping there, and possibly save money compared to shopping at a big box retailer. And, they have things like chef knives, cook ware, condiments, spices, meats. Amazing.

I've been a customer for over 10 years. I've forged lifetime friendships with several employees who work hard and have excellent customer service. I have even catered an employee's wedding. I started grabbing boxes and the clerk says to me "don't take all the boxes." I started laughing because me taking 6 or 7 boxes was probably doing them a favor. Sometimes good service is just reading the situation accurately...

The man at the checkout is slow at his job. It took him 15 minutes to weigh a ball of meat. It's incredible how calmly they make you waste your time and they don't even apologize.

The staff is always friendly and very helpful. They're not just drones either, I have a lot of good conversation when I am there and sometimes will get recipe ideas from them. Great place to shop. ****5/18/2025**** UPDATE They're just as great as ever! Staff is by far the friendliest crew you'll ever meet at a wholesale seller.
