Two Drummers Smokehouse

On the way back from the Tidewater area I was seeking a place for some good, local grub and saw the reviews for Two Drummers and came here. The parking was packed on a weekday around 1PM and when I went inside, they were really busy, but there was plenty of seating at the bar, so I chose that. My server was great! Very friendly and helpful with the menu. She said one of her favs for lunch was their smoked meatloaf, so I chose that. I got it with a side of mac & cheese. It came out pretty quickly and looked and smelled really good. It tasted great! I love a good smoked meatloaf and this one definitely fit the bill! The mac & cheese was decent. Ordered a wide variety of foods to try as much as possible (with plenty of leftovers). The Brunswick Stew, Burnt Ends, Sweet Cornbread, Pulled Pork, and Banana Pudding were all top notch. The Sausage, Brisket, Fries, Slaw, and Hummingbird Cake were good as well. Only cons, you might have to flag down a waitress for refills and be careful where you place your hands on the dilapidated railings when going up/down the stairs outside.

Excellent service and a great atmosphere. Overall the food was real good. Barely missed getting five stars because imo the pulled pork, although very tasty, was too wet. Regardless, still a solid BBQ joint.

Big portions, good price. Employees are friendly. I ordered fried strip steak however the breading was not so crispy. My husband ordered Angus beef brisket dip which tasted great!

My husband got the brisket and I got chicken chili! Meal, atmosphere and dessert were really, really good!! Definitely recommend checking it out!
