Especially since the arcade/ pinball machines came in here my grandsons love to come to Winged Bear in downtown Simsbury for the games and the food, and it gives me time to relax while I eat, and watch them have a blast! Have been several times over the past few years with them. This latest visit, 11/9/25 we had a wonderful experience all around so I had to do a review. Service was top notch and I was very impressed! I had a middle table/tall seat at the end of the restaurant and I could see everything that was going on the entire time, and I took notice. The staff were five stars! I haven’t seen such excellent service in quite awhile. Promptly greeting everyone, waters, place servings, apps, main course, cleanup, prompt checks. Place was very busy and staff calmly kept up. And a constant
Our family gets the $10 Tuesday Cheese pizza. It truly has been delicious. Perfectly cooked. Not undercooked at all. It has been our go to for weeks now. Highly recommend!!!
We went to The Winged Bear for lunch. It was our first time back since the covid shutdown. I am happy to report that they are serving the same excellent food. The Cuban sandwich I had was very good and everyone else liked their meals as well. The waiter was friendly and helpful but not overly friendly. The meals came out quickly but we weren't rushed at all. The prices are fair. They should update their online information because only Google has their hours. We'll be back.
The pizza is phenomenal. Always a banger. But the lasagna I had was probably one of the worst I've had in my life. It didn't taste bad, but all lasagna should taste pretty great. This one was just full of tomato sauce and had like 2 layers with barely any meat or cheese. But besides that, this place is great.
Great place for kids - fun casual atmosphere. The pizza is average, good for kids and families. NY style dough/crust - thin with a good crisp but a little dry. Sauce tasted like right out of the can topped Italian seasoning mix and the mozzarella is your bulk sysco style.
