The Rose & Thistle Bed & Breakfast

My friends and I have been going to the Cooperstown Baseball HOF every fall for the last 15 years. This was the first time we stayed at Rose & Thistle. Very reasonably priced, immaculate accommodations, and delicious, meticulously prepared breakfasts. I don’t know where to begin to describe what a wonderful experience we had there. Patty & Tom are perfect hosts, after initially meeting and chatting with them, I felt like they were old friends! They provided every amenity one can think of. The style is Victorian and decorated with eclectic, interesting curios. The ambiance is warm and cozy. The perfect place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. We had a very enjoyable weekend with Patti and Tom! The huge homemade breakfasts are delicious and Patti takes great care to special dietary needs. The attention to detail does not go unnoticed and made our stay so comfortable. We will return on our next visit to the Baseball Hall of Fame. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars for location is that parking is tight. However 2 great restaurants are across the street, so very walkable.

To Patti and Tom, please accept my apologies for the delay in writing this review; as things have been very hectic, and I would have liked for everyone to know sooner how fabulous the Rose & Thistle is. So, for all of those prospective guests, here it is.||While my wife had previously been at a bed & breakfast, this was my first time staying at one. And, while I, personally, was not sure what to expect, I could not have been more satisfied with my first experience. And, it was all made possible by Patti and Tom.||The fact that the location of their home is so close to the Baseball Hall of Fame, for a sports fan, makes it all the more inviting. What can I say, but WOW! What a wonderful experience staying here. Patti is a delight! Our room was exquisite (Mary’s Room) even the bathroom was stunning. Breakfast was a feast and the coffee was superb ( something I always judge 🙂) I can’t wait to return!!

We had a wonderful stay at Rose and Thistle! Patti and Tom were so kind and welcoming, and you can tell Patti truly cares about her guests. Breakfast was amazing, and we left with full bellies and lovely memories. Patti also gave us great recommendations for local restaurants, and we had a wonderful conversation with her on the porch. We felt so at home here. Coffee was ready at 7:30, and breakfast was promptly served at 8:30, everything was so cute and cozy. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay!
