The Barnwell Inn

If I could rate the Barnwell Inn 6 stars, I would - especially for service and location. It's the most spectacular B&B I've ever been to for so many reasons. Let's start with location - the parking is included, and you're a 5-minute walk to Cooperstown's Main Street and no more than a ten-minute walk from the Inn to the Baseball Hall of Fame, no matter which route you take. This instantly saves one of the biggest possible headaches when visiting the village. The rooms are cared for with love and attention to detail. Comfortable beds, immaculate spaces and bathrooms, and each room has its own unique charm. Fans of antiques will be in a particular sort of paradise staying here. As always Mark and Tara warmly welcomed us to their beautiful and immaculate Inn. We always have a lovely relaxing stay. The breakfasts are delicious and include a yummy desert. The location is perfect - just a few steps away from all the sites in Cooperstown. We look forward to our next visit in 2024. Thank you Mark and Tara for being such wonderful hosts!

We had a wonderful stay at the Barnwell Inn during our Cooperstown trip. This visit was to be "all about" baseball - but that was before we tasted Mark's amazing breakfasts! The food truly was outstanding. Although we had read as much from many other reviews, we were still extremely impressed at the caliber of the dishes he prepared to perfection. As I said to Tara, our very gracious and generous hostess, "Who knew that you could do such things with breakfast?!!" Mark and Tara are so personable, helpful and generous that you truly feel special there. Their recommendations for local dining were spot-on and Tara also made sure to let us know which places in town, other than the Hall of Fame, to check out during our stay. The Barnwell Inn in Cooperstown is a special place. It's a few minute walk from Main Street; a good location for visits to the Baseball Museum or Farmers Museum and other local sights. Tara is an excellent hostess, and we suspect that just about everyone staying there was a repeat customer; a home-away-from-home sort of place. Our room was nicely appointed and reasonably spacious. Breakfast was another special element; the morning dishes were more than a step above. There is a relatively small number of rooms so reservations are definitely required.

This B & B in a word? Outstanding! Disregard the bare-bones website because this B & B is an outstanding place to stay. Lovely interiors, a cozy side porch with rocking chairs, and the wonderful (and plentiful!) gourmet breakfasts all add to the overall charm of The Barnwell Inn. || ||The hosts, Tara and Mark, made us feel comfortable and were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Tara actually emails you a list of her favorite restaurants and tips before your stay, which is helpful and interesting to read.  The B & B is located only a short walk from Main Street, which is where you'll find most of the shopping and the main attraction of Cooperstown, the Baseball Hall of Fame.||Many shops and restaurants are also within walking distance from the B & B, which is in a quiet residen
