Chicken nuggets are a favorite for all ages. While quick service establishments serve their saucy version, the store-bought options bring fun with specialty shapes. Mealtime becomes more than just a quick bite. Patrons want to dive into the fun. Located off of Shunpike Rd at the corner on the lower level of Hickory Square in Chatham, my partner and I came to Nugget Spot, originally opened in 2013 on East 14th Street in NYC for an Elite event thanks to Sara and the Yelp team. Upon entering as first-timers yesterday, we were greeted by the staff inside this cozy vibe with only one table and some bar-style seating, with one table outside but mostly takeout. 🧆 Food: I had the spicy chicken sandwich, fries, cherry limeade, a Boylan’s soda float, and the Captain nuggets… everything hit the spot. The sandwich was superb, with just the right level of heat and flavor. The cherry limeade was surprisingly good, refreshing and not overly sweet. Bonus points for the variety of awesome sauces that really took everything up a notch. 👥 Service: Kai and Justin brought great energy to the place — they were fun, personable, and made the experience even better. Service was fast, and the food came out hot and fresh. 🎨 Aesthetic: The vibe is clean and casual with a local twist, featuring cool merch inspired by New York sports teams. It’s a small spot with around 10–12 seats, but the setup works well for quick bites or casual hangs.

For my summer experience you go with an open mind, palate and stomach. I stopped by The Nugget Spot in Chatham NJ. Jason ( the owner) gave us a nice warm welcome when we arrived. They restaurant is small and very clean and organized. They have their merchandise hanging on the side. There is no public restroom. This is great for a quick bite and to go orders. They have a summer menu which I had looked over before I arrived to the restaurant. One of the summer menu items that grabbed my attention was the spicy fried chicken sandwich with Chipotle ice cream....yes you read it correctly ... fried chicken and ice cream . ​ We also got a Raspberry lemonade milkshake and a kids Nugget combo with Raspberry lemonade. Came on a Monday night around 6pm and we had the place to ourselves for a bit. Justin the manager was so helpful sharing tips on what to get and walking us through the menu, and we got a bit of history of the place while we waited for our food. The nuggets were really good, even for my nugget picky friend. We got a 1/2lbs of the reg and 1/2lbs of the captain crunch. 1/2lbs sounds like a lot, but it is actually the right amount (~7-8 pieces). They were cooked perfectly. The captain crunch had a bit of sweetness to it at the end which was surprisingly good. We got a side of the fries and I was a huge fan. Sauce options were plenty, a big fan of the pickle sauce and truffle mayo. It really is best when you eat at the place since it's hot, fresh and crispy. The homemade drink options were rasp
