The Montauket

Only went here to catch the sunset at the bar on a Friday eve in the off seaon (October 24th). -Kitchen is closed in off season, but thankfully the bar is open. Cocktails were great! -Follks definitely start pouring in quickly to watch the sun go down, so arrive at least hour before sunset if you want a seat (off season Friday). -No dogs allowed unless service animals.

This review is for the BAR ONLY. This place is so cool and a great place to go for happy hour and watch the sunset. The view is absolutely breathtaking, as you watch the sun go down. The bartenders are friendly, and they have a good selection of liquor. You definitely must hit this place when in Montauk!

BEST place to watch the sunset. Great music, great location. Lots of fun.

I came here on a Saturday with a friend and had to pay a $20 cover charge, per person, just to enter the place. I clarified we were only going to eat but the man said it didn’t matter. We paid the cover charge and waited about 10 min to be seated because the place was very busy. The food took a long time but was very good. We got the lobster roll and the clams/mussel appetizer. The drinks we got were very strong (watermelon margarita and a mule). I couldn’t finish mine because of how strong it was. All together just with two drinks, the lobster roll, an appetizer and the cover charge, we spent close to $200…. I enjoyed the view and the food but I don’t think I would ever come here again because of the cover charge and just the overall experience.

We stopped by the bar for a drink and to enjoy the sunset by the water. The setting was lovely, and the live band was a nice touch. However, it did get quite noisy. I understand that’s often the vibe, and it’s fine in a city setting — but in such a calm waterfront location, I would have preferred a more relaxed atmosphere.
