The Horse Radish

I love supporting small businesses, and the hidden gem, in Carlton, is a must-visit on your next Oregon wine country adventure. Famously delicious lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch served fresh with regionally sourced ingredients, local Willamette Valley wine, cocktails, and beer, as well as live music on Saturdays. Not to be missed!

We were going to an apt and looking for a place to grab a quick bite for lunch and came across this place. It was 4 adults and we were seated quickly as it was a Sunday early afternoon. Our drink & food order was taken and we didn’t have to wait long for our food (although our drinks took a little longer because of the bigger party that had come in prior to our arrival). The food was good - the BLT was toasted very well and bacon crisp; Grilled Cheese had a number of cheeses but the special (tomato soup) soup was okay. Overall it’s a beautiful place & service was attentive. Would highly recommend stopping by for a bite if you are in the area.

The Horse Radish restaurant is located in one Carleton's many historic brick buildings located on Main Street. The Horse Radish is cozy, and "sparkling" clean. The menu displays choices of appitatizers, entrées, wine, beer, cocktails, varities of tea and great coffee beverages. The grand finale ... share a chef-made dessert as an intimate, indulgent sin! The servers are friendly, professional and attentative; but never overbearing. I would suggest making a reservation for a Saturday evening dinner date to experience this great old restaurant and listen to local live music talents.

Great sandwiches, soups, salads at a good price. 16oz French press coffee $4. Very good service. Lunch is busy, you can expect to wait 15-20 mins. I'd say the sandwiches are equal in size to a Subway 12" - just WAY better. It's easy to find in Main street. It's also easy to access and exit front and back. Additional parking in back. Rear entrance, and patio (very nice) are not fully handicapped accessible; the rest of the place is. If you found this post to be helpful please consider a thumbs-up.

Cool lunch spot for sandwiches. Very quick service to get you sorted in between wine tastings.
