The Getaway Cafe and Provisions

Visited for out of town and wanted to stop somewhere casual for lunch before leaving. This spot was so nice inside! We ordered at the counter and someone brought our food and drink out to us. My husband and i shared a turkey BLT sandwich and i ordered an apple cinnamon tea. They had a fall drink menu that had some yummy options on there. The sandwich was so good and very filling for lunch. Also, the chips it came with were delicious!! They had breakfast sandwiches, different toasts (like avacado options), and sandwiches on their menu.

Ahhhh man, the coffee is so good. It’s smooth and flavorful, but, is not bitter. I’ve recently been hooked on their mocha lattes with Oatmilk… I sincerely say that it’s probably the best mocha latte I’ve ever had. Their food is also really really tasty. They always have the coolest seasonal drinks too… thoughtful flavoring in them, so if you see a new drink item, try it. This cafe is surrounded by water, so you can take a stroll with your drinks/food. It’s worth the trip. I’d say best cafe in Wilmington; and I’m a born and raised Wilmington native-so, listen to me on that one. Thanks for smiles every morning, great coffee, and food. Cute place. Friendly. Fast. Avocado toast was the best. It's topped with a chili oil that gives it a little kick. Not super spicy, just a nice kick. Super generous with the avocado. Ordered a seasonal coffee, witches brew iced coffee. Delicious!

Overall a cool spot to get coffee, breakfast, and hangout. The atmosphere is unique. After all, you can go anywhere and get the same coffee.

The hot honey chicken biscuit is the bomb. This is the second time I’ve had it….very pleased. The coffee is amazing as well. I can’t say enough good things about the staff.. super friendly and helpful, makes me feel right at home . So don’t miss this little gem .
