Customer Reviews
Everything about our stay at The Cornell was perfect. Just perfect. Every staffer we encountered was friendly, helpful and thoughtful. We so appreciated the complimentary cocktail after check-in, as well as the complimentary bottle of wine in our room. The Emily Dickinson suite was spacious, squeaky clean, and bright, with a king-sized bed AND a twin bed option, as well. The fireplace was a highlight of our evenings there. Complimentary breakfasts were remarkable and delicious: different options each day, with attractive presentation and fine waitstaff. (Remember to tip!) ||The only blip was a (for us) $78 'hospitality fee.' This was an unexpected add-on when I made the reservation months ago. Just be aware that the room and taxes are not all you'll be paying. Maybe this is standard proced
We had a wonderful one night stay over the weekend at the Cornell Inn. From the moment we walked in the staff was friendly and accommodating, taking the time to explain all of the amenities and lead us to our room. We did early check in without any issue, and were very pleased with the room we had opted for (Vivian's room - complete with fireplace). We took advantage of the cognac tasting and welcome drink after we returned from a day of exploring, and sat in the main area in front of the fireplace for a few hours chatting with other guests. Breakfast the next morning was wonderful, and checkout was a breeze. We are already planning when we can go back in warmer weather!
We enjoyed our stay at the Cornell Inn! The room was cozy, we enjoyed the log in our fireplace (you are required to keep glass shut for safety and cleanliness, but can still feel some heat…and it creates such a nice atmosphere!) The breakfast was pretty good and the staff is extremely friendly! My one and only heads up to someone interested in visiting is that it IS a historic building which means the noise at night can be an issue. We did bring a white noise machine which helped some, but I could hear the upstairs room into the late night which did affect our sleeping. If you’re a light sleeper, I’d recommend opting for one of their upper rooms so that this won’t be an issue! :) Location is great, we enjoyed visiting Lenox in this quaint B&B.
Positive: cleanliness, staff, decor, food, amenities Negative: nothing worth noting
You can go to the most luxurious and beautiful place but if the customer service is lacking or the staff are not personably it can honestly taint your experience. The Cornell Inn is both luxurious WITH the most accommodating staff, specifically Jeanne at the front desk. She went out of her way to make my stay beautiful and even after I checked out, she was able to find me a hot cup of coffee (after breakfast ended) and relit the fire as I was using the common area for a few hours to do some work before driving home. Jeanne is a keeper! Thank you!
