The Capital Grille

I had an incredible experience at The Capital Grille in Lombard. I was skeptical about booking a late reservation because of disappointments in the past. We booked a dinner reservation for 830 and the business closed at 9pm. From the moment I walked in, the service set the tone; warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling rushed or booking a late reservation. The staff carried themselves with the kind of professionalism that makes you feel taken care of from start to finish. Emma was our sever. She was perfect! When visiting our family in the western suburbs, our favorite stop before going back to the city is the Capital Grille Lombard. We usually sit at the bar to enjoy sharing plates while watching football. The staff is absolutely incredible, especially expert bartenders Claude and his wife Molly. They are consummate professionals, and are gracious hosts. We thank them for their genuine hospitality that they share with everyone. Be sure to try their famous Stoli Doli, the ginormous shrimp cocktail, that you could order by the piece, their phenomenal, sliced fillet mignon with fig, balsamic reduction, with cippolini onions. You sit amongst locals who seem to know everyone and everyone is happy. Cheers and enjoy!

This was the best dinner I have had in a long time. Very pricey but well worth it and I had three meals from the left overs. The service was insanely attentive and gracious. I have never been treated that well at a restaurant. The food was cooked perfect and was delicious. I didn’t have dessert but they looked amazing too. Highly recommend and glad it is so close to home. We went at 5pm. It was quiet but when we left at 6pm, it was getting busy!

I made a reservation to come here for our anniversary dinner. This is my first time coming to any Capital Grill location. I do have to take off a star because for a fine dining restaurant, they really should enforce their dress code policy. I saw a kid come in with his stinky sports uniform. I saw some aging young guys and girls come in with t shirts and sneakers. I wouldn’t be surprised if people came in with their pjs. Keep it classy people. We waited half hour even though we had a reservation at 7 pm. Once we got to our table. We saw that they decorated the table and had a card. The manager came over and apologized for the wait. Thank you for an amazing dinner and wonderful atmosphere. Everything was incredibly delicious — we loved every moment. I’ve never had a better dessert. The coffee cake was absolutely delicious — light and delicate.
