The Capital Grille

Our group of six recently visited for lunch, and as always (we have been regulars for years), The Capital Grille did not disappoint. Since we had requested a quiet spot for conversation, the hostess thoughtfully guided us to a perfectly situated reserved table. Each of us ordered the two-course lunch pre-fixe. Our waiter, dressed in an African safari explorer uniform, added a touch of pleasant humor to the upscale atmosphere. He served us like a "stealth bomber"—quiet, smooth, and professional—ensuring we felt completely taken care of without being interrupted. The first courses, New England clam chowder and butternut squash bisque, were the ultimate soul foods for the cold weather. We had a great family dinner at The Capital Grille. We started with the calamari and lobster bisque—both were delicious, especially the rich and flavorful bisque. For our main dishes, my sea bass was perfectly cooked and the miso butter/shitake mushroom combination was velvety to the palate and delicious. The porcini-rubbed ribeye was outstanding. My kids enjoyed their burgers and fries, which were done just right. Great food, great service, and a wonderful overall experience. We’ll definitely be back!

1st time trying a Capital Grille. Came to celebrate my birthday with my wife. Reservations are a must at this place as it can get busy and even with a reservation they may ask you to wait till seats are available. From the moment you are seated, the staff make sure you are taken care of. They are patient, knowledgeable, and dedicated. Our server Nicholas and the managing partner Richard ensured that whatever you were celebrating, you would feel special. Highlights of the meal included a wonderful birthday card with decorated table, well created drinks, the lobster bisque, 48oz porterhouse steak, the lobster Mac and cheese, velvety mashed potatoes, and the scalloped potatoes (which most places I've been to don't even offer). The Capital Grille has rightfully earned its place as a top-tier American steakhouse. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the tastefully sizeable menu, which included South African lobster, Gold Waygu Filet Mignon and various dry rubbed strips. Our selection of seared tenderloin with butter poached lobster tails and the seared sea scallops with lobster and asparagus risotto was nothing short of perfection. From the ambience to the mains to the creme brûlé cheesecake, tout était tout simplement parfait.

I chose to celebrate my birthday here and there are no regrets. Location: within the Roosevelt Field Mall area (doesn't take away from it) Parking: valet $8 (tip; espcly in inclement weather) Ambiance: alluring; tranquil Food: delicious; they should replace the iceberg lettuce with spinach (classier) - salmon - love the orange glaze; wasn't cooked all through though All other meal choices were perfect (i.e. salad, soup, steak, etc.) Martini - John suggested, and it was amazing I can't wait to return. 😊
