Taste of Yemen

This was my first time visiting Seattle—I’m Tunisian and came from Victoria, BC—and we were craving Yemeni food for years! Taste of Yemen was exactly what we needed, in a very convenient location. The taste was beyond expectations. We tried both the Chicken and Lamb Mandi, and the meats were cooked to absolute perfection. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. I ordered the full Chicken Mandi and the Lamb Haneeth—excellent service and truly delicious food. I highly recommend this place. Whenever you’re hungry, just come to Taste of Yemen!

We ordered chicken Mandi, lamb Mandi, and yogurt salad. Then chai Karak (so sweet and too much cloves-spice).The rice is spiced very well( love it), but the chicken and lamb are not spiced enough. The restaurant is small and not organized enough. I’ll give it another visit to try something different.

This isn't food I would typically eat, but this year I'm trying all new things no matter what it is, so i decided to try Taste of Yemen. I ordered the half chicken mandi. There was definitely an interesting flavor I had never tasted before, I couldn't put my finger on it. The meal wasn't bad, but it was a little dry, could use a sauce imo. The rice was pretty flavorful and the dish is big though. Servers were nice. I noticed no reviews really had the menu so here's the menu as of 1/17/2026

This was my first experience with Yemeni Food and it was amazing 🤩 The chai was perfectly spicy, the flavor of clove really came through. The Galaba Lamb was excellent. It was tender and very well seasoned; the spicy sauce on the side was a nice touch. I'll definitely be back 😁 🅿️ Free parking in the lot.

The Taste of Yemen was a wonderful experience for our family. The food was absolutely delicious—rich, authentic flavors that felt truly satisfying from the first bite to the last. Portions were generous, making it great for sharing, and everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The seating was comfortable, which made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal together. Overall, a great spot for authentic Yemeni cuisine, and we’ll definitely be coming back.
