Sydney's Taylor Made Cuisine

As someone with over a decade of experience in hospitality, I was absolutely mortified by my visit to Sydney's Taylor Made Cuisine. I witnessed what I can only assume was the owner berating her young staff—who appeared to be no older than 20—right in front of customers. The atmosphere was wildly uncomfortable, and it's clear from other reviews that this abuse is an ongoing issue. Employers are meant to lead by example and set their young staff up for success, not public humiliate them. On top of the unprofessional behavior, my $23 wrap was inedible. In the middle of peak tomato season, with beautiful tomatoes everywhere, this "gourmet" shop was using a pile of rotting, practically fermented tomatoes for their sandwiches. Rancid Moldy Cheese This is a sophisticated well-stocked and beautifully arranged and appointed specialty food shop. The young staff are enthusiastically helpful and informative. But there needs to be some awareness of the perils of selling severely spoiled perishable food. Green mold on $50 a pound overly-ripe Moliterno truffle cheese. Tomme de savoie that reeked of ammonia: spoiled over the hill cheese that should never have been given away, much less sold for a king’s ransom. These surprises awaited my return home today with these purchases. I have never had this experience at Mill Road Cheese Shop in Westhampton. In the spirit of wanting to patronize a local business I was very disappointed.

Sydney's is our go-to for everything from a quick sandwich to gourmet cheeses for entertaining and everything in between. Don't miss brunch starting again Fall 2022.

I was the only one in there at the time, staff was kind, the young man that helped me was informative when I asked specifics of a menue item. The Stacey sandwich was 10/10 everything was fresh even the ciabatta was nice a fluffy !

Celebrated my birthday with friends w the Omakase experience!!! It was exceptional! Highly recommend!
