Sweet Mango

I ordered the sashimi regular, calamari appetizer, sake, mango sticky rice, and vegetable spring rolls. The sashimi was pretty good — fresh and nicely presented. The calamari was a bit bland and could use more seasoning. The vegetable spring rolls were actually really good — I especially liked the mushrooms inside; they added great flavor and texture. The mango sticky rice was okay, but I wish there was more mango and a little less sticky rice. The mango slices were quite thin, and the rice was a bit too sweet for my taste. They have several sake options, and the Nigori was smooth and slightly sweet — definitely worth trying. Sweet Mango in Southington, CT has a little NYC Asian vibe going on inside. Service was very friendly. Food was really good ***but*** was mostly cold. Mushroom soup good, but lukewarm. Hibachi Shrimp and Hibachi Steak and Salmon are both big servings with great vegetables and fried rice, but again cold. Issue seems to be plating food on cold dishes. Food tasted great, could be 5 stars with hotter food.

Honestly it pains me to write a bad review but without failure this place makes me feel sick after eating the sushi. They have great ideas but the quality is not worth 3 stars

All of the food was pretty tasty, but came out a little disjointed timing wise. One of the rolls we ordered we assumed had been forgotten/not made, but then was brought out after dessert/the check was paid and we were getting up to leave. The fish quality was very good, and everything we received was very tasty, I think we might have been a little too big a group for their comfort and overwhelmed them a touch.

I've been eating here for the last eight years and have quite literally never had a poor experience. My food is always delicious, it's always on time for takeout aside from like a super busy Saturday night. Sweet Mango has been a staple for me for the entire time I've lived in the area.
